Custom Domain Setup
Last updated March 22, 2026
A custom domain lets you serve your Plan Harmony agency profile from your own branded URL — for example, travel.youragency.com instead of app.planharmony.com/agency/your-slug. This gives your profile a more polished, professional appearance and makes it easier for clients to find and remember.
Custom domains work alongside all the features described in the Agency Profile, SEO & Discovery guide. Your specialties, featured trips, destination expertise, structured data, and blog are all served under your domain.
Why Use a Custom Domain
- Branding: Your profile lives on your domain, reinforcing your agency's identity.
- Credibility: Clients see a URL they recognize and trust.
- Shareability: A clean, memorable URL is easier to put on business cards, email signatures, and social media.
- SEO: Search engines associate the content with your domain, which can strengthen your broader web presence.
Prerequisites
Before setting up a custom domain, you need:
- A registered domain that you control (e.g.,
youragency.com). You can use a subdomain liketravel.youragency.comortrips.youragency.com. - Access to your DNS provider (e.g., Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains) to add a CNAME record.
- Directory visibility enabled — custom domains only work when your public profile is turned on. See the Agency Profile, SEO & Discovery guide for details.
Setup Steps
1. Enter your domain in Agency Settings
- Go to Agency Settings.
- Make sure your public profile is enabled in the Profile Visibility section.
- Scroll to the Custom Domain card.
- Enter your domain (e.g.,
travel.youragency.com). The system will check that the domain is available. - Click Save Profile.
2. Configure your DNS
After saving, the settings page displays the DNS record you need to create. Add a CNAME record with your DNS provider:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | CNAME |
| Name | Your domain (e.g., travel.youragency.com) |
| Value | agency.planharmony.com |
If your domain is managed through Cloudflare, enable the proxy (orange cloud icon) for automatic SSL.
3. Wait for DNS propagation
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though it's often much faster. Once propagation is complete, your agency profile will be accessible at your custom domain.
Tips
- Use a subdomain (e.g.,
travel.youragency.com) rather than your root domain. CNAME records on root domains can cause issues with some DNS providers. - Don't include
https://when entering your domain in settings — just enter the bare domain name. - After setup, both your custom domain and your Plan Harmony profile URL will work. You don't need to choose one over the other.
- Your blog posts, if you have any, are also served under your custom domain and included in the sitemap.
